On Saturday, May 6, 2017, the Regis community celebrated the Class of 2017 at its 87th Commencement Ceremony. Guests took their seats under the white tent on the Great Lawn to recognize the accomplishments of the graduates and honorary degree recipients. 733 students were awarded degrees and became members of the Regis alumni family over the weekend.
Regis awarded honorary degrees to Knatokie Ford, PhD, biomedical scientist and former Senior Policy Advisor in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Sister Consilio Fitzgerald, SM, founder of the largest rehabilitation organization in Ireland; and John Fish, Chairman and CEO of Suffolk Construction. For more information about the recipients, please visit the Regis College website.
Dr. Ford, this year’s Commencement speaker, inspired the Class of 2017 with her story of perseverance, dedication, and commitment. She reminded attendees, “you shouldn’t let your circumstances dictate your outlook on life.”
Although the white tent may have been taken down, the legacy the Class of 2017 has left at Regis and in our community will be felt forever. Best of luck to our newest graduates!
