As Student Government Association President and senior nursing major, Nurse Tech at Beth Israel, field hockey athlete, Board of Trustees representative, and Vice President of the Student Nursing Association, Alycia Leconche has quite a bit on her plate, but manages to balance all of these roles as well as changing campus with a determined and caring attitude.
Since she has begun her work as SGA President following the graduation of Fred Mathieu, she has implemented service into the SGA meetings, spondered a Founder’s Day service that included 800 students, faculty, and administration, and organized an event where people made blankets for an organization called blessing blankets that provides blankets to homeless individuals.
Leconche states that she as one of her long term goals for SGA is to “leave a legacy of service to the Regis community and the greater Boston area.” As Leconche continues her work as SGA President, there is no doubt that she will continue to cultivate a welcoming environment for everyone to be accepted. She encourages everyone to come to her to come to the SGA meetings to share your experiences, bring to light anything that is happening on campus that would affect the students, and help create plans on how to make Regis better.
Look out for another Check the Climate in response to the last one held by SGA, MCSA, and the Student Diversity counsel as well as the Christmas Tree Lighting on December 6th.
